Reasons For Joining the DSF program
My reason for joining the DSF program is for myself with me wanting to help out my community with as much as I can weather it’s the littlest thing. I want to feel helpful to others and feel good about it. I also want to help the youth stay in school and get the education that they all need and deserve, make school fun and but very knowledgeable. I went into the John F. Community Center building to go take the carpenters pre-apprenticeship test, but a guy name Sean Guest came in to introduce the Americorps Digital Service Fellow program to everyone in the testing room and I was immediately interested. That is my only reason for joining the DSF program.

Technical and Personal goals for the year
My technician goal for the year is to most importantly know the ins and outs about any technical problem there is so that I can be very up to date and helpful when doing a job. My personal goals for the year is to hopefully make a difference within the youth community and hope that they can pass on the message to want to help others stay in school and get an education that is very much important.

Areas of interest
My area of interest is music I love to sing but traveling has my heart, I haven’t traveled anywhere interesting and so one day I would love to travel across the world and site sees. That is what my area of interest is.

Service goals for the year
My service goals for the year is to have the schools in the community up and running technology wise. I want the students to be very familiar with computers and one day to want to join the Americorps Digital Service Fellow program and make an impact in the communities in schools as well.

Future plans after the DSF program
My future plans are to work for the city. I would feel very comfortable working and helping out in different areas in Philadelphia because I know my city best as far as their technical problems from what I’ve been experiencing within the Digital Service Fellow program. I love the computer experience.

Areas of interest in Technology
I would like to learn more about software and troubleshooting more than anything because they seem to be the major problems that I experienced so far and I really would like to learn more.

Reasons For Joining the DSF program
For the last couple of years I have been wandering from job to job without many prospects of any kind. I was interested in the DSF program initially because it seemed to offer a way to a career and actual growth. As I came to learn more about the program I was increasingly drawn to the idea that it would be service in addition to apprenticeship. There would be growth as a person in addition to growth of a career.

Technical and Personal goals for the year
My goal is to become proficient in the use, diagnosing and repair of Windows and Apple computers. I would also like to build a computer from the ground up. It is also important to me that I prove some things to myself this year. I aim to stay dedicated to my goals and become better at creating good habits and avoiding the bad.

Areas of interest
I am a huge sports nut and especially love Baseball, Basketball and Football. My favorite teams are the Phillies, Sixers, and Saints. I also enjoy reading and especially enjoy fantasy and science fiction.

Service goals for the year
I hope to serve 50 or more people this year. Starting a technology club to educate and inspire kids to use and push technology to it’s limits is something that I am definitely interested in. Part of that is also that I would love to work in a more personal fashion with students and hopefully increase their passion for technology and see them grow.

Future plans after the DSF program
I am not entirely sure where I see myself after the DSF program. I feel as though I would welcome any job as long as it has a possibility of growth to it. However even in my short time serving with the program I have already begun to enjoy working at schools and helping in places that are perhaps under-served. I would enjoy continuing to do that if the opportunity arose.

Areas of interest in Technology
I am most interested in the idea of figuring out problems that computers have and making them work again. It ties into my enjoyment of puzzles of any sort. Troubleshooting and fixing computers is where my interest is most keen.
